There is a requirement in my shop to use IMS/DC with DB2 database. Is it possible to connect to DB2 with IMS/DC.

Please let me know what are the steps involved in connecting to DB2 and what are the extra calls in DC.

Thanks in Advance.

Yes , DB2 can be accessed from DC.

Hi Anil,

Thanks for the Link. I read it and there is no special calls for DB2. Just include SQL's in the program. What about plans, bind etc for the online programs.

If you have any sample please forward it.

Thanks a lot for your help.

"What about plans, bind etc for the online programs"

Yes plan is must . check out ENABLE parameter used while binding a pack or plan.

Enable talks about connection types. there are various options which go with this.
here is one link
http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/DSNCRH13/2.12.3?SHELF=DSNSHHA4&DT=20030505090642&CASE=

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dzichelp/v2r2/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.doc.comref/comrefindex.htm

ENABLE(IMSMPP) for DC or simply enable(*) for any connection (cics, ims dli or ims dc...)

Kolusu,
In this link, i found some strange thing
http://mvsforums.com/helpboards/viewtopic.php?t=4657&highlight=db2

for DLI and DB2 it is
PARM=(dli,dsnmtv01,psbname)

and BMP and DB2 it is
PARM=(bmp, programname, psbname) where psb and program are same.

Correct me if it is different.
