Ajith,

Something is seriously wrong with the design. why do you want to read the file over and over again? If you are trying to match 2 files then there are better ways of doing it. Unless the requirement is soo complex, I would never recommend reading a file over and over. Please post a detailed information as to what you are trying to do , then may be we can suggest an alternative.

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Kolusu

Kolusu,
my requirement is to extract the record from a file which satisfies some condition. now this record may have some other records associated with this, immediately below it. after getting the first record, i need to extract one of the associated records of this record which satisfy some condition.so i need to read this file again and again. as my input file is not a fixed format file i 'm not able to use sort and then extract the records.

I saw ur post which was reply to one post by Yatri, but my requirement is bit different than wht the solution for that problem has. is it possible to read the file over and over again ?

Ajith
