Victor,
Please be clear in your post. What are you trying to search. Are you searching for the dataset itself or its contents ?
If you are trying to search a dataset itself, just go to 3.4 panel, type whatever prefix you know and then put in wildcard character '*' like this.
This will fetch you all datasets that start with the prefix 'ABCD.AC'.
This will fetch you all datasets that start with high level qualifier ABCD and ends with ZXY

Make sure that you have / for the item in bold on the dslist(3.4) screen
