Victor,

Ofcourse yes. You can do both.

Go to Option 3.2 in ISPF and then Choose 'V' (VSAM Utilities). It lets you define GDG as well as VSAM file.

Thanks,

Did you make any attempt to try and see what is listed in Option 'V' ?

Thanks,

I didn't know that (see my signature!).

I just showed a colleague, and his only comment was that it's many years behind File-Aid!

Neither did I. And that too when it was staring right into my face, for all of us use 3.2 everyday.
It might be behind File-Aid but it is very handy in small shops where File-Aid is not available. I know of at least one. My training mainframe on my previous project did not have File-Aid and we had to code IDCAMS jobs for cluster defines.

Regards,
Manas

I just vaguely remembered that option. But the truth is, I never used it in my life.

I am tooooooo young in age and in experience to say anything on your response. You guys are real "Masters of Mainframe". I am really impressed with the knowledge of all Moderators & other long term posters in this forum.
