SMS DYNAMIC ALLOCATION error.

An error was detected while CVery Happy was trying to dynamically
allocate a file. The error code returned from SMS
(Systems Managed Storage) was 9700. This error can be
associated with a JOB or TSO user trying to transmit
and create a dataset whose high level index is protected
by the security system on the receiving node.

RESPONSE: Resubmit the job, specifying an index that
you are allowed to create. Also, refer to WTO records in
the statistics file prefixed with SDAASMSI.

Is there a manual that defines SMS error codes ?

Samuel,

It would be helpful to locate the right manual if you had posted the extact error no: instead of the error text.

Try this manual

http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/DGT2R130/CCONTENTS?DT=20040628095824

However you can look up most of the error messages using IBM'S LOOK AT messages link

Go to www.mvsforums.com

you will find the LOOK AT message link under "Messages and Error Codes" section.

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Kolusu ,

The error code is in the third sentence of the text. LOOK AT did not give me any results. However, I will try that manual.

Thank-you
Sam
