Using the parameter "REGION" on JOB and EXEC statement has any impact on job execution time ?

Some specialized programs, such as SORT, can run much faster given enough REGION. Unfortunately, the actual size used by SORT can be limited by internal parameter settings so REGION may have no affect. You can experiment and look at SORT messages.

Most user-written code will not be helped by a larger REGION.
