hi all

i am a new member of this group.
i have a doubt in easytrieve.

there is a file FILEA
two fields together comprise the key for this file
(fields fldaa,fldba)

similarly another file FILEB
this also has a key of 2 fields (fldab and fldbb)

fldaa and fldab are of same datatype
but fldbb and fldba are of different datatype

can i compare these 2 files for matching records

Sinduja,

You can ONLY match LIKE format data type fields. so you need to convert one of the file fields.
