Hi all,

I need to store a File in MVS with file name having latest Date/Time when the program was executed, so that we could re-use the same file again in future by passing the Date/Time through JCL. I.e we want to store the files with date and time. Could Date/Time be stored in GDG and if so how? If not what else are the options?

Kindly let me know how to solve this.

Regards,
Anand

Your post is quite contradictory. You say you want to store the FILENAME with date and time and later you say that you want to store the date and time in a gdg. What exactly are you trying to do?

If your intention is to read a gdg which was created on the date you pass through JCL, then there is a way of dynamic allocation using BPXWDYN

Check this link

Check this link for allocating current GDG version.

Hope this helps...
