Hi all,

I am getting an error message when I run an ordinary select query in QMF. The message says that "The portion of database trying to access is in use ". And, I am getting a SQLCODE of -911.

I tried to start the tablespace in the database but it says unable to start. This is particular portion of the database is under LOCK. I could run the query only with UR option but unable to perform any other operations on the tables in this tablespace.

Can you please let me know anyways of releasing the LOCK.

Kindly treat this urgent.

Thanks,
KOUSIK.

Kousik,

I guess the table is check pending or copy pending. Someone has performed a load on the table which puts the table in a lock mode.

run this command from the DB2 COMMANDS (option 7 on DB2I main option)

Code:

-DISPLAY DATABASE(your databse name) SPACENAM(your table name) LOCKS

Depending upon the results you need run an utility. check this link for running utilities

Hope this helps...

Cheers
