hi

can any one tell me is this possible
i take sanp shot of all db2 volumes from z890 mainframe on tapes
restore the dump on s/390.is it possible to coustmize db2 and run the same db2 environment on s/390 machine.

Guru,

What version of DB2 are you planning to take a snapshot and run on the other machine? As long as the versions match(exception to DB2 V8 ) then I don't think you will have any problem.

hi kolusu

the db2 version is 7.1 what would u suggest ? will this work?
actually we are trying to transit db2 which contain 1.7 tera bytes of data on z890 machine to s/390 machine which will act as dr site can u suggest some idea
how the transtion can be done.
