|
|
Hi,
I would like to know of accessing/Invoking IMS transaction
through DB2 stored procedure.
If there is any material/Links please pass it on to me.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Few months before, I saw one link which discusses this procedure,
Now I lost the information.
It is appreciated If it is without MQseries. _________________ Raghu |

Raghu,
There are 2 other ways of accessing IMS transaction from a db2 stored procedure apart from MQseries.
1. You can use the Database Resource Adapter(DRA) callable interface.
2. You can include Advanced Program-to-Program Communication (APPC), code in the stored procedure. An IMS or CICS transaction can be invoked by APPC.
Check this link for detailed explanation of these 2 methods. You need to read chapters 13.3 "Accessing IMS Databases"
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg244693.pdf
Hope this helps...
cheers

Hi,
You can also use DSNAIMS to invoke IMS DC from DB2 SP. DSNAIMS is a DB2 supplied SP which will invoke IMS DC.
