Hi,

I need a basic understanding in the difference between the values stored internally in the Comp Values & how to display and see the values in any output using 3.4 option of dataset

01 A PIC S9(4) COMP VALUE 10
01 B COMP-1 VALUE 20
01 C COMP-2 VALUE 30
01 D PIC S9(4)V99 COMP-3 VALUE 40.

If i am assing the values intially as above ,how are the values stored internally & can i display these variables directly to see the output.
What i was told that we have to edit these variables first to see the output & for Comp-3 values cannot be seen directly as we should need tools like File AID.

Can anyone please help me in the group

Coolguy2005,

You can see the values directly in the edit mode also, but it will be in Hexadecimal. Tools like File Aid helps in converting the Hexadecimail values to its proper decimal, so there you can see the values in decimal .
