				| Hi, I have created A dataset with the below space.
 SPACE=(CYL,(40,30),RLSE),
 My question is whether 40 cylinders will be allocated to these dataset as soon as the job starts running or one by one will it get extends.

 Thanks

				| Sometimes the detailed explanation of "what" doesn't really explain "how".
 The entire primary allocation is obtained when the dataset is first opened. Your RLSE parameter lets go of unused space at CLOSE time. If the file is repeatedly OPENED/CLOSED during processing, the primary allocation of 40 CYLs could be reduced to 1 CYL by RLSE and then the secondary amt of 30 would be obtained for the next extent.
