Hi all,

I am running syncsort in order to select records that have a certain date in column 80 (in a variable length record)

below is my INCLUDE card statement:

INCLUDE COND=(84,09,CH,EQ,X'020041115C')

the picture of this field is : PIC S9(09) COMP-3.

my job ends with CC=0 but my output file contains zero records.
The input file has the data that i need.

Can some one help me with this?

thanks

sys.

systemz,

U need to change ur sort card as shown below. Pic S9(09) COMP-3 takes only 5 bytes so u should specify 84,5 and not 84,9.

Try this
Code:

INCLUDE COND=(84,5,PD,EQ,20041115)

Thanks,
Phantom

Systemz,

A field defined as s9(09) comp-3 occupies only 5 bytes. For equivalent DFSORT formats for various COBOL data types, see the "What are the equivalent DFSORT formats for various COBOL data types?" Ask Professor Sort item at:

http://www.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/software/sort/mvs/professor_sort/

I hope Frank wouldn't mind the link for a syncsort question.

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Well, I'll have to charge a nickel everytime a non-DFSORT customer accesses the table Wink (just kidding, of course.)
