Hi -
The RETPD parameter specifies how long to keep a dataset before it can be deleted - I know you can use it in tape, and not use it in tempoarary datasets - my question is, is it also suitable for DASD? If not, is there any other way to ensure my dataset is not deleted from DASD?

You can specify RETPD parm for Dasd datasets also. Check this link which explains in detail about the RETPD parm
