We have just changed from OS390 to ZOS. When backing up data files in the middle of job streams, using COBOL programs to backup, it gives the error EDG4025I (EJECTED. READING OF SCRATCH VOLUMES OR VOLUMES OBTAINED WITH GETVOLUME IS NOT PERMITTED) and IEC145I 413-08.
We can back up fine using ADRDSSU, or IEBCOPY, or IEBGENER but when using COBOL it fails. Never had that happen with OS390.
Any ideas?
thanks! |

Much thanks. The systems programmer says he is trying to get the APARs now from IBM. I did a work around by just putting the GDGs to disk (one usually is a two tape A/P voucher history which took up 1,800 cylinders!) Three payroll bi-weekly tape steps I've also converted to disk. When ever the APAR is done, I'll change them back.
Much thanks again,
