Here's what I want to do:
I have a network laserjet. It's not a dedicated printer. It's a network printer. It is defined to cics as a printer device. I currently use it as a printer. The programs wrtie to a TDQ which is pointed to the printer with a trigger level. This all works.
What I want is to issue printer commands such as change the print orientation from portrait to landscape and change the font to my choice. I have tried different things, read up on PCL & PJL but I don't think that that is the problem.
Has anyone done anything like this ??
I have tried different escape characters imbedded in the front of the data stream. Nothing seems to work. _________________ gkb1278 |

I've got this one figured out.
Within cics sit table, trun spool=yes,
utliize cics spool open/write/close
within mvs utilize VPS printers which in turn utilize PCL/PJL
which is what I'm looking for.... _________________ gkb1278 |
