Hi,

We can use IDCAMS in a JCL or use the LISTDSI in a CLIST to fetch the properties of a file/GDG Version. This provides the date of creation but not the time.

I need to know if there is anyway to determine the time when a GDG version is created.

Thankyou
Nithin

Use LISTCAT for GDG and you will see CREATION DATE that shows the date in Julian.

Oh!!

I see, you meant time. Yes, that does not come in LISTCAT. Sorry about that.

Well, I do not know what could get you that.

Basically what the above post comes down to is that unless you collect the relevant SMF records (which many sites do not) and have them going back far enough, this information does not exist.
