I know that DFSsms's ISMF can do 'Volume List' like follows:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
VOLUME FREE % ALLOC FRAG LARGEST FREE
SERIAL SPACE FREE SPACE INDEX EXTENT EXTENT
-(2)-- --(3)-- (4)- --(5)-- -(6)- --(7)-- --(8)-
PVOL01 417454 15 2354046 354 71383 59
PVOL02 300972 11 2470528 249 113715 33
PVOL03 260909 9 2510591 282 142767 61
PVOL04 162190 6 2609310 465 44822 69
PVOL05 815154 29 1956346 84 724624 70
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there any way to write a batch job or something to display the
dedicated information(mainly FREE%, FREE EXTENT, etc. ) like above?
(This is because that some people do not have the authority to use ISMF functions....)
Thanks a lot.....

Samsun,
If you have file-aid at your shop then you can use VTOC feature.
1. Choose UTILITIES(3) option on the main screen of file-aid
2. Choose VTOC(7) Option on the next screen
3. Choose option I while providing the volume serial and press ENTER. you will find statstics of the volume. In your case the you can mask the volume serial name. Just code PVOL* and press ENTER. you will get the desired results.
You can also use IEHLIST utility in batch to list the vtoc entries. Check this link for a detailed explanation of IEHLIST

Hope this helps...
Cheers

MXI is shareware that can display this information and it can also be executed in batch. Here is a link (although it may have moved).

There is one more way. Write a job with two steps.
First step takes a dcollect of the volumes
Second step runs a rexx to collect volume information from the DCOLLECT _________________ Rajib |

IEHLIST is an DFSMSdfp utility that is available to all to use and should be accessible. It may give some or all the information you want.
Look it up in the DFSMSdfp Utilities manual. _________________ My opinions are exactly that. |
