Sometimes simple terms also confuse you a lot at least for me . When I first read this post , I was confused about the word "third party" . Even though I knew the meaning of it , I just went ahead and looked up the dictionary and found the following
for THIRD PARTY
Code:

Main Entry: third party
Function: noun
1 a : a major political party operating over a limited period of time in addition to two other major parties in a nation or state normally characterized by a two-party system b : MINOR PARTY
2 : a person other than the principals <a third party to a divorce proceeding>

So in mainframe world what exactly constitutes a third party ? As far as I know, there is one MAJOR party (IBM) and then there are n number of MINOR Parties (compuware, CA, BMC, Sterling commerce....). Now where does this third pary come into picture? I did not take unisys platform into consideration as it relatively has a tiny market share.

would file-aid, abend-aid, xpeditor come under third party tools or second party tools?

Kolusu, to my way of thinking, I would classify products as either OEM (IBM) or Third-Party (some of which you already listed).

It would also be nice to narrow down the list of what type of specific third-party tools the poster is interested in:

Program Development/Debugging
Abend Resolution
Source Control Management
Data Management
Storage Management
System Development
Operations/Data Center Management
Data Analysis
Output Management
