I am getting a status code of 35 when i am trying to open the vsam dataset. the vsam file is a ksds and it has 100 records in it. what could be the reason?

Murali,

Are you sure you have records in the KSDS file. A file status of 35 happens when you open an empty KSDS in Input or Input-Output mode.

Alternatively check your jcl to see if you have referring the VSAM using the correct DDName.
