Hi,

I am trying to search for and replace a variable length string between two fixed words 'XXX' and 'YYY', which can occur anywhere in the member of a PDS. It would be great if someone can assist me in acheiving this using CLIST.

I am not sure if it can be handled in the same way. Let me explain
The members contain SQL

Replace view v_name
AS locking table_name for Read
select
........

Here the phrase, "As locking table_name for read" is to be replaced with a new one. This phrase changes in length and text with a change in the table_name from member to member, but always falls between "As" and "select" keywords.

Can this be done in CLIST?

File-aid can be used to replace strings very easily. The above link has an example of file-aid
