Hi David
Yep tou can manage your MVS db2 from db2 on UDB.. as you said from contol center. on the left hand side you will see a folder called system, right click on that and choose add. now you will be able to see the a small screen to enter called "Add System". you have to enter
1) System Name
2)Host Name
3)Node Name
after this you will be asked to enter the userid and password of MVS system.from there on you can carryon

Hi Balanim,
Thanks for ur reply. Could you please let me know what i should give for NODE NAME & INSTANCE name in the case of mainframe OS/390 db2 databases ?
I think the " Add system " is applicable only for TCPIP or NETBIOS network since it comes under "Search Discovery". I just tried Manual configuration with the following Parameters.
Protocol : TCP/IP (Connect directly to the HOST server)
Host name : IP address of the mainframe Server
Port number : corresponding port number
Database name : LOCATION NAME of the os/390 database
The next tab is to configure NODE OPTIONS
I don't know what values I have to supply here for SYSTEM NAME & INSTANCE NAME
Could you please let me know what values i can give ?
Thanks,
David. |
