Hi,
Is there anyway that I can find the jobname which careates the particular sequential DASD dataset....
briefly..
I have one DASD sequential dataset.. and I want to know, which job/jobid was created this dataset?

Anand,
The information you need can be traced thru SMF records.SMF records are log entries sent to the System Management Facility by various routines and stored in datasets. This is totally site dependent and varies from shop to shop.You need to talk to the systems programmer at your shop, to find out whether you can get the data from a daily archive.
Check this link for System Management Facilities(SMF). Chapter 13 has the layouts. The one you need to know is record type 15 (0F), "OUTPUT, UPDAT, INOUT, or OUTIN Data Set Activity".
There are routines which you can use to extract the records you want by date, time and record type.
