Hi All,

I am performing a test(system testing) that involves comparision of
several files and each one of them containing records upto 5000. I am
performing a file comparision using JCL batch program that invokes FILE - AID.

The comparision is between the production and test data. This gave me a
whooping 6500(report.JPG) changes in a particular file. Now I have to look into each
one of these changes and justify them.

The FILE AID report screen shot that is generated is attached along with
this post. This report(details.JPG) contains data that is displayed record wise and its
indeed difficult to figure out the exact field of the copybook that is involved.

I just wanted to know if there is a way out to make this report more
explanatory ie, giving the field name where the change has occured or
something similar to this. Any changes in the JCL that is being used here might result
in a detailed report. Please help me out.

I would appreciate if you could
suggest me on simplifying this tidious task of system testing.

Frank,

Could you please suggest me any other alternative, say DFSORT or any other utility to achieve the same.

Thanks and Regards,
Raveendra.

raveendra_ibm,

Sort products do not have the capability of pin pointing the changes in each byte. If your shop has easytrieve then check this link

Ps: Do not link Images to this board, they will be deleted
