Can anyone help me in getting this sort of values.

Main requirement is to send the identity of message through MQ from mainframes to some distributed platform. It was understood that distributed environment needs to convert the values. as it will be EBCIDIC format when it was sent from mainframe. instead if i send in ascii format this avoids the conversions on the other end.

MQ does the EBCDIC -> ASCII conversion automatically based on the receiving host, it's no big deal.

Sriram, Bill has advised you correctly. You don't need to perform the conversion; MQ will do it for you, with no errors.

Mervyn

Mervyn,

I agree if it is message data. But what if a message identifier is given as RAM_TEST_FILE_FEED? Can the other end which is distributed platform identify and retrieve the messages on the same name "RAM_TEST_FILE_FEED"

Thanks
Sriram
