Our IMS started task was not shut down correctly with an IPL. Fortunately, this is on our TEST LPAR, but I am NOT an IMS System Programmer (he retired) and now we are getting the following error:
DFS0618A A RESTART OF A NON-ABNORMALLY TERMINATED SYSTEM MUST SPECIFY EMERGENCY BACKUP OR OVERRIDE
We have NO IMSDB - just IMSDC, so i wanted to just get past this and get my IMS instance up. So I replied like this:
R 27,/ERE OVERRIDE
And i got this:
31 DFS972A *IMS (DCCTL) AWAITING MORE INPUT*
Manual on DFS972A is sparse on what I need to enter and is saying i need to enter a SEGMENT. Not sure what to reply. What did I do wrong? And is there any suggestion on how to get past this issue?
Thanks! |

After struggling with this for a while, I found the issue was basically a simple period was missing! For this particular command, it requires a '.' at the end:
/ERE OVERRIDE.
DUH...
We are up and running now. |

rlwood,
Thanks for posting the solution. Sometimes the obvious solution is right in front of our eyes. Glad you are able to fix it. _________________ Kolusu
