We're going to migrate to Cobol 5 in the near future. Our sys progs have an automated process that can analyze potential problems there. ONE of them (don't remember why) is having IGZEBST linked into your module.

One curiosa with this, is that when you review the "failing" load modules, some of them contain (under the column "Compiler") the string "Assembler H (bizarre) V2R1" and some contain C'PL/AS'.

Does anyone know what the difference is, and is the "Bizarre" text someone at IBM having a laugh ?

misi01,

Old IGZEBSTs can cause problems for VS COBOL II programs mixed with COBOL V5/V6. All VS COBOL II bootstrap modules IGZEBST have PN74000 applied or have been replacedwith the LE version.

What are COBOL routines IGZEBST, IGZCBSN and IGZCBSO?

Adding Enterprise COBOL Version 5 programs to existing COBOL applications

I suggest that you have the migration guide handy which will answer most of your questions.
