I have 50 generations listed under a base GDG.
I have to take backup of each GDG to other dataset. I know we can do this using batch Sort or Copy individually, but since I have several other GDG which I have to do the same and thats taking lot of time. is there a way to automate or do it in one batch. Thanks for looking.

example: DS with and are the backup.
Code:

RT.CM.T0965.SALES.PRSN.RTCM.ADDS
RT.CM.T0965.SALES.PRSN.RTCM.ADDS.G0024V00    [b]TS@SAS.PIT.RTCM.T0965.SALES.PRSNR.G024V00[/b]
RT.CM.T0965.SALES.PRSN.RTCM.ADDS.G0025V00   [b]TS@SAS.PIT.RTCM.T0965.SALES.PRSNR.G025V00[/b]
RT.CM.T0965.SALES.PRSN.RTCM.ADDS.G0026V00   [b]TS@SAS.PIT.RTCM.T0965.SALES.PRSNR.G025V00[/b]
RT.CM.T0965.SALES.PRSN.RTCM.ADDS.G0027V00   [b]TS@SAS.PIT.RTCM.T0965.SALES.PRSNR.G026V00[/b]

I forgot to mention that most of these Datasets are migrated and some latest generations are on DASD and some are on Tape.

vak255,

Look Up ADRSSU COPY operations with RENUNC parm.

Alternatively You can read the listcat output and generate a dyamic JCL to submit via INTRDR to copy the individual generations. Look at the smart dfsort tricks on gdgs for samples.

My shop has restricted access to ADRDSSU. Is there anyother way of doing this?. I have the list of input GDG generations in a file and I have created the output Generations in a file. Now what utility could be used other than ADRDSSU.
