Compuware is doing some work using visualization to help programmers understand code and data relationships.

Looks interesting. Just COBOL and PLI? or any other languages like C/C++ or Assembler?

Today it is COBOL and PLI. We do have efforts in the lab for assembler and C - although the language that seems to pique people's interest in Java.

The data visualizer is a little more all encompassing - DB2, IMS and MVS (VSAM and flat files) for the mainframe and then most likely distributed relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 for LUW, Sybase).
