My team is every day moitoring Mainframe batch jobs and reports at end of the day to onshore. instead is there any idea to automate Mainframe batch monitoring.

aravindmcs,

Add a step to the last job in the stream to send out a mail to onshore team. if they don't receive the email then something is wrong and the job stream did not finish.

Mainframe batch monitoring, I mean every day batch jobs run, my team is watching every job till the last job. i am asking is there any process to automate the monitoring process.

thank you for your help,
this will work up to some extent, but if middle job abended we will not get notified till the last job's exectuion time.

what i am asking help is , is there any process/idea to get automatically notified if any job abended with monitoring?

Hello,

You should be able to do this using the scheduling software that controls the batch processing.

Or you could add a "last step" to each job that only sends an e-mail when that job abends (COND=ONLY). If by abend, you really mean some undesirable Condition Code, you can still do this, but the test whether to send to the e-mail would be situation specific.

Everywhere i've been for years does NOT do this manually. . .
