Hi,
I have a PDS created by a tool which contains some 5000 members with Size, Created, Changed, ID information. Unknowingly somebody has copied some more members into the PDS. Is there any tso utility to know when the copy has been made and by which user?

Regards,
Ravishankar

Unless the tool they used to copy the members records that info in the PDS directory (such as the ISPF 3.3 panel), there is no TSO tool to get that info. SMF records should have been created when the PDS was opened for output, and if you have a SMS query tool you may be able to get the info from them.

Bruce,
I have taken a dump of SMF data. But the dump, when opened in File-Aid has only 2 records and mostly appears empty on scrolling to the right. Any insights into how to read the SMF dump dataset would be of great help.

Cheers,

coolman,

You are looking at a SMF record type 14 or 15 which captures the non-vsam datasets activity. check this link which explains in detail the format of record type 14.

Hope this helps...
