Hi,
We have a production job that runs 5 days a week through CA-7. Can we introduce a new step into it to use PGM=IKJEFT1A to submit another batch job that does SORT? If it had to be IKJEFT1A then why to use INTDR? Sorry, am actually confused
Please suggest the PROs and CONs.
Thanks. _________________ Ranga

If the submitting job is controlled by CA-7, you will then be breaking the chain of command by submitting externally via batch TSO.
I would keep everything under the control of CA-7 _________________ If it's true that we are here to help others,

If this sort is now to be part of the Production Job, why not simply include it in the job?
There must be something i misunderstand. . . _________________ All the best,

why do you think that IKJEFT1A and INTDR are interchangable? _________________ Dick Brenholtz

You need to a better job in explaining your problem. If I go by your subject line Quote: | Can we use PGM=IKJEFT1A to submit a batch job? | then the answer is -- IKJEFTA1 is actually "batch TSO", so you are indeed submitting some job in batch; however, the rather interesting question is -- what prompoted you to ask what you'e asked for, why the idea is coined out? _________________ Regards,

May be and if so, I'm not yet sure what OP is looking for Kolusu and I'll walk silently for some time now. _________________ Regards,
