Hi,

I tried to copy a dataset onto a specific volume (ex: XXX001) using SORT job by specifying VOL=SER=XXX01 but the end result was different. The output dataset was created on some other volume !!!

Can you please help me how to achieve it? Or, is it possible at all?

The output dataset is probably SMS controlled, which means that the dataset will be defined on a volume where there is enough space. SMS is very much site specific, you should talk to your storage people.
