Hi friends,
I have application development experience in mainframe technologies of nearly 5 years . I have already taken up DB2 700 exam and thinking of which to do next.
Although i donot have working experience as a database administrator, Im interested in knowing the administrative tasks in db2 for z/os . I have an overall view of it as I have interacted with DBA's when i was working
Kindly advise if there is a platform where i can practically learn administrative tasks for z/os which would help me write the exam 702?
Currently since Im not working i donot have access to mainframes
Or is it better that I take up DB2 703 exam for Application development itself |

Most often, one needs experience to be a dba. Either to get hired or to perform the task. The mechanics of being a dba are not difficult. Knowing what to do requires experience.
One good way to get such experience is working in the application development envirpnment. Also, there are more opportunities in the application development/support environment for new people. _________________ All the best,
