When a batch job goes into an infinete loop , how to cancel.

The job does not go into an infinte loop, the program that you are trying to execute goes into an infinite loop.
BTW, What is the job that you had executed that went into a infinite loop. Can you please post it.

For cancellation, go to the spool, and type C for cancel or P for purging the job from your output queue.

Check the exception count of the job. That may throw some light on whether your job is behaving or misbehaving.
