Hi,
I am not sure in which section, I should post this question.. so just posted it here..

I have a COBOL-DB2-CICS program and it was working fine .. For last couple of days users are complaining that this program is responding very slowly .. in other words when we are searching some thing on the screen .. at that time it takes more time to display the result.

Any thoughts how to improve the performance of this program .. ?? or what are the possible reasons for this type of lag ?

Thanks
batu

There are many factors which could be the cause of the performance degradation. If you have a monitoring tool such as STROBE, that could point out the problem.

Something simple that can be done is to run a RUNSTATS and/or REORG on the tables that your application accesses and start there.

Often batch processes can run which add considerable number of rows which can throw your statistics off and cause your data to be less organized.

Your DBAs should be able to perform these utilities for you
