When 2 transactions try to WRITE the same record to a File one after the other, assume that the transactions are not committed at this point in time

Will not one of the transactions encounter DUPLICATE-REC error while writing to file? In my case It did not , instead it was in deadlock until one of the transactions abended with AFCY due to the DTIMEOUT limit
