hi,

I'd like to know how to read two files in the same DD SORTIN of a SORT, and the files have different record lengths, please.

in such situation SORT will produce an abend by default , but there's a way to avoid it if a certain parameter is informed.

i wonder which parameter is this and how to use it, please.

thanks.

If the two files have RECFM=VB, they can be concatenated in //SORTIN.

If the two files have RECFM=FB, they cannot be concatenated in //SORTIN.

I don't know what parameter whoever told you this is talking about. DFSORT does not have a parameter that allows concatenation of FB files with different LRECLs.
