Sas Questions are already answered in the application programming forum.

Why don't we include Message Queue (MQ) as a forum. I found it difficult to find the resources when I needed help.

Thanks,
YSMVS

We already are answering MQ questions in the CICS & Middleware forum.

I think Natural and Adabas could be another area where a forum could be started. Even though it is being used very sparingly in the industry, the information available on Internet is too limited. I would be one among the few who appreciate if a forum is started on such a rare technology. What say?

Thanks

I realize that this board is oriented towards application programmers and that we don't get many system programming questions (and that most of the members probably don't know the difference), but a systems programming area might be good. I'm not sure how to title it to distinguish it from other areas. Of course topics could be anything from creating user ids and procs to space management, user exits and SMP/E... all things that application programmers rarely if ever see.

This is an MVS dedicated site and has proved to be very helpful to myself and others in our shop who are newcomers to the MVS world. We migrated to MVS from VM/VSE two years ago and have not regreted it! Hands down, MVS is much more powerful than VSE with much better support.

However, I think that a forum subject dedicated to those users who have migrated from VSE to MVS would be very helpful. For example, I get questions constantly from programmers like "I used to do it this way in VSE, how do I do it in MVS?".

Another good subject might be for those MVS systems people who run their MVS systems as guests under VM or those systems that have to communicate or exchange data with VM.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks...vmbigot

I would like to see a section for Web technologies and the mainframe.

There are already enough sites on the internet which cover Web technologies, however there are only about 3-4 good mainframe sites, of which this one ranks first equal with one other. Kolusu has done a brilliant job with this site. We don't need another "purist" site which talks about Java, XML, etc in completion isolation to the mainframe.

I would also like to see a section for Architectural related questions. This will of necessity be broad, covering all areas; ie: mainframe, Unix, Servers, Networks, Middleware, etc. This section will not have any questions (cluttering up this section) about code cutting, errors, etc.
