Sorry, no COBOL solution (although it is possible). But, it was only 400 lines of code for the whole package which made me very happy. If your lucky enough to use C++ there is already a class in the IBM class library for SkipLists.
Anyway, nothing wrong with shovelling data into a warehouse. Sure beats reading IMS log files and cranking by hand. Modern technology, sure miss that...
