COBOL table : Data is stored in an Array.
DB2 table : Data is stored in VSAM Linear files.

javedsk12,

One other important thing is the table data stored in a cobol program is only available during the program run. It is just a storage area which you can refer.

DB2 tables have permanent data and can be accessed via various other applications like Spufi, QMF ...
