Hi,

When I try to call a COBOL-DB2 program with a COBOL program I encounter the following problem:

SQLCODE = -927, ERROR: THE LANGUAGE INTERFACE (LI) WAS CALLED WHEN THE CONNECTING ENVIRONMENT WAS NOT ESTABLISHED. THE PROGRAM SHOULD BE INVOKED UNDER THE DSN COMMAND

Can anyone help me in resolving this problem??

Thanks,
Subashri.

You need to submit the calling program under DB2:

Most application programs written for the batch environment run under the TSO Terminal Monitor Program (TMP) in background mode. Figure 127 shows the JCL statements you need in order to start such a job.

//jobname JOB USER=MY DB2ID
//GO EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,DYNAMNBR=20
//STEPLIB DD DSN=prefix.SDSNEXIT,DISP=SHR
// DD DSN=prefix.SDSNLOAD,DISP=SHR
.
.
.
//SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=A
//SYSTSIN DD *
DSN SYSTEM (ssid)
RUN PROG (SAMPPGM) -
PLAN (SAMPLAN) -
LIB (SAMPPROJ.SAMPLIB) -
PARMS ('/D01 D02 D03')
END
/*

Figure 127. JCL for running a DB2 application under the TSO terminal
monitor program

*** please note ***

The return code will be for the disposition of the Terminal program IKJEFT01. If you want the application program's rc then you might want to try IKJEFT1B version.
