Hi i want to develop a small application which will fetch some records from a db2 table on the basis of user input and write it in to a dataset.

So i want to know which one will be better cobol or rexx if use of this application is frequent.I want some reason for choise

I do not want to know how we can do this but why we should use cobol or rexx for this purpose.I want to know which one will be more efficient.

On given day COBOL will be efficient to access DB2 when compared to REXX.

Cobol is better option but if you see i have to design a user input screen and it is a small applcation and changes are required in some times according to requirement
then what will you suggest and plese give some reason why rexx is not better choice.

That is precisely why CICS/DB2 or IMS/DB2 screens are for. With REXX the sql is always Dynamic and it involves a min of 4 steps , connect , prepare , execuete and disconnect which is not the case with Cobol.
