I'm needing to obtain the day of the week (ex: Sunday) from a numerical date value in an Easytrieve program. Easytrieve doesn't seem to have a date function that does this. Does anyone know the logic/algorithm to do this date conversion?

dtech,

Easytrieve does not have any functions to get the day of the week. you can try to implement the Zeller algorithm which is listed here.

Another option is to call COBOL routine from easytrieve which can calculate the day of the week.
