I have a dataset which uses different layouts. I need to change the record layout, sometimes even for a single record i have to use different layouts.
Is it possible to change the layout without going out to the screen 1 in fileaid and then changing the map name.
Is there any command for changing the map as and when you browse/EDIT in Fileaid without going for XREF option.

vak255,

The XREF option is indeed used to browse multiple Record layouts. I am not sure as to why you don't want to use it.

AFAIK there is no simple way to switch record layouts without using XREF

I just want to know whether there is anyother option. Do you have XREF doc/screen shots. If you got a link please let me know.
