Hi,

What is the maximum size of vsam dataset size of a table space in version 8. I could not find in the guide. As for as i know in version 7 it was 2GB. Is it same in veriosn 8 too? Please clarify.

db2patient,

The 2 GB real storage limit is mainly due to S/390's 31-bit addressing. DB2 V8 will ONLY be running on a zSeries machine and z/OS v1.3 and higher. With 64-bit addressing DB2 could have up to 16 exabytes(2 power 60) of virtual storage addressability to be used by a single DB2 address space.
