Looks a few not have 'S' on position '2'

i like to find is there any ISPF command to find which row's are not havingng 'S" on position 2.
i know that we can use some utilites like sort..ect to do this.

Venu,

ISPF is short for "Interactive System Productivity Facility". Note the word "Interactive"; it's about stuff you can manage within your screen size.

I don't think you'll get a sensible "Interactive" solution to this, because the file is too large. You would be better off seeking a batch solution.

venu, If you have FILEAID in your shop then you can do a selective online search and probably might deal with what you want. but as Mervyn, told even am not having ideas of getting this done by ONLY ISPF commands.

ISPF is much more than Interactive. It has a very rich set of I/O, editing, and non-vsam data management APIs that can be run in batch as well. See the ISPF Services mmanual. This would be a very simple Rexx program using LMINIT, LMOPEN, LMGET (in a loop), and LMFREE (LMCLOSE is optional).

ISPF also provides SuperC which can be used for this, though I think that is more trouble than it is worth for this case.

Many examples exist on the net, mostly in Google Groups, of similar programs.
