Venu,
ISPF is short for "Interactive System Productivity Facility". Note the word "Interactive"; it's about stuff you can manage within your screen size.
I don't think you'll get a sensible "Interactive" solution to this, because the file is too large. You would be better off seeking a batch solution. _________________ The day you stop learning the dinosaur becomes extinct |

venu, If you have FILEAID in your shop then you can do a selective online search and probably might deal with what you want. but as Mervyn, told even am not having ideas of getting this done by ONLY ISPF commands. |

ISPF is much more than Interactive. It has a very rich set of I/O, editing, and non-vsam data management APIs that can be run in batch as well. See the ISPF Services mmanual. This would be a very simple Rexx program using LMINIT, LMOPEN, LMGET (in a loop), and LMFREE (LMCLOSE is optional).
ISPF also provides SuperC which can be used for this, though I think that is more trouble than it is worth for this case.
Many examples exist on the net, mostly in Google Groups, of similar programs. |
