 Option 3.14 or 3.15 can be used scan a PDS for a string and it can be run in batch.

 Hope this helps...

 You could use FILEAID in batch to search. A search in the forum will get you exact code.

				| Hi,
 Try this. I used to scan anything using the following job.

  	  | Code: |  	  | //STEP05  EXEC PGM=ISRSUPC,
 //            PARM=(SRCHCMP,
 //            '')
 //NEWDD  DD DSN=SEARCH.PDS.NAME1,DISP=SHR
 //             DD DSN=SEARCH.PDS.NAME2,DISP=SHR
 //             DD DSN=SEARCH.PDS.NAME3,DISP=SHR
 //OUTDD  DD SYSOUT=(*)
 //SYSIN  DD *
 SRCHFOR  'VARIABLE-USED'
 /*
